Born in Perm, Russia, and currently based in Tbilisi, Georgia, I spent many years working in science, first at a research institute and later as a microbiologist in the pharmaceutical industry. Despite a 15-year scientific career, photography has always been a central part of my life. Over the years of creating work alongside my profession, I gradually developed a visual language and chose the mediums that most accurately reflect my way of seeing the world.
My practice spans photography, video art, and mixed media projects, drawing inspiration from the visual culture of the 1980s and 1990s. I approach each image as a cinematic still from everyday life, exploring themes of light and darkness, uncertainty, and the fear of the unknown. The world I create is intentionally blurred and non-naturalistic, filled with reflections, flares, flashes of light, and a palette of calm blues, unsettling purples, and dazzling yellows.
My recent works focus on the illusion of stability, the presence of chaos, and the impossibility of making a definitive choice.
